here is my summer or just my NY adventure the three weeks I was there:
First off Skaneateles: (Otisco lake)
Went to Caz lake to celebrate the 4th, but because it's really hard to take pictures of firework and also when it's dark I got two that worked haha
"Camping" we were supposed to camp, but someone stole a chair and a water bottle and also it started pouring
Tried to get the jet ski in the water for the second time. Failed attempt
Hiking with Jocelyn
Casually went to Niagara and Canada with Hannah, because why not
Fort Ontario in Oswego with Tina
SU campus, because guess who had not seen the actual campus yet. Woops.
Sandy Island with Tina. You gotta do what you gotta do when its 93 degrees out, but dang it was beautiful.

Highline park
Central park
Okay let me talk about Central park for a second here.
So we did not have a lot of time in Central park since I was leaving that same day, but we sat down in the grass (Jay and I) with each a tiny soda and we just sat. For about 15 minutes we sat and just observed people; either playing softball or people strolling.
I often get the question "Why do you love America so much?" and then whoever asks the question starts rambling on and on about politics or stupid laws they have or people kind of just lists all of the things they hate about the country and I noticed that I started to forget why I fell in love with the country in the first placed.
Though the moment I sat down on the grass in Central park with one of my best friend, it reminded me what America I love.
I love the America where people are playing, laughing and having fun. I love America because certain parts of the culture makes me feel like I belong somewhere.
I don't necessarily love everything about the country, just like I don't like everything about my own country.
The hard part about this is I can't really describe it with words at all, I just got this feeling of, this is it. This is the America I remember and this is the America I want to remember. This is the good part. The part where people are relaxing or where people are playing and laughing. The feeling of everyone having fun and forgetting all the usual stress. People coming together as one.
Biking back to the Hostel
10 discoveries I made the three weeks I was in New York:
1. I completely forgot that in America it is very normal to just leave your stuff. I thought this was a more Upstate thing, but in JFK airport a girl plugged in her phone in the charging are, turned around to her friends and asked if they wanted to go find food.
2. Sitting on a bus is literal Heaven. I would much rather sit on a bus for 6 hours from New York City to Syracuse, NY than I want to be on the night bus home in Copenhagen for 45 minutes cause it is probably way worse than hell.
3. They do not have bike lanes all over the place and I was on a shuttle where we almost ran a guy over.
4. They do have bike lanes in NYC (I discovered number 3 on a shuttle bus not when I was in the actual city) and they are on THE LEFT SIDE? What? Who decided to have bike lanes on the left side?
5. When riding a bike in NYC you cannot ride against traffic so if you need to turn around you have to go all around the block.
6. People on bikes do not know bike rules and they don't use their hands at all so if you're Europe you basically need to forget everything you have ever learned about bike safety.
7. People don't bike with helmets. Did spot one guy wearing one, probably European
8. Citibikes are great and your best friend if you want to see New York City in only a few days.
9. Fireflies exist. They aren't made up bugs you only see in the movie Atlantis, they are real and they look cool.
10. A dozen is 12 and I don't know math.
